R-407C is anon-ozone-depletingzeotropic HFC refrigerant blendcomposed of R-32 (23%), R-125 (25%), and R-134a (52%). It was developed primarily as a substitute for R-22 in air conditioning and medium-temperature refrigeration systems.

Usage and Compatibility

Primary Application: R-407C is mainly used in new or retrofitted residential and light commercial air conditioning systems, heat pumps, and medium-temperature refrigeration equipment.
R-22 Replacement: It is considered a close performance match to R-22.
Oil Compatibility: R-407C is not compatible with traditional mineral oils used with R-22 and requires the use ofpolyol ester (POE) oilsto ensure proper oil return to the compressor.
Zeotropic Nature: As a zeotropic blend, it has a moderate temperature glide (around 7.0 K or 10F) during phase changes. It must be charged into a system as aliquidto maintain the correct blend composition and performance. If a significant leak occurs and performance changes, the remaining charge should be recovered, and the system recharged completely.
System Type: It is not typically recommended for systems with a flooded evaporator due to the temperature glide
